Melaniece Davis is the CEO and founding attorney of Better Law Divorce Attorneys in Marietta, Georgia. A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2003, she has been selected to Georgia Super Lawyers every year from 2018 through 2026. Her work centers on one goal: helping good people going through a significant transition in their family protect what is most important to them, their children, their assets, and their future.

How Melaniece approaches a case

She firmly believes family law matters are best resolved outside the courtroom. Her process starts with meaningful, good-faith settlement negotiations. If the parties can’t reach an agreement, mediation is the next step. Going to court is the last resort. When a case does need a judge, she leads the firm’s litigation team and is prepared to try it.

- Represented the father in a landmark Georgia legitimation case that ended in a final order awarding him sole legal and physical custody of his son. The case drew a press conference and a firm press release.

Beyond the office
Melaniece was born and raised in Gary, Indiana, and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale on a full basketball scholarship, earning a B.A. in Political Science. She earned her law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Today her family and her law firm call Cobb County home, and she loves its safe, close-knit community. Outside of work, she enjoys professional sports, concerts, fashion, and a good book.
